I See London, I See France by Sarah Mlynowski // Book Review

I See London, I See France  by Sarah Mlynoski is the perfect book for a summer read. When it seems like all your friends are going to Europe and you've got the biggest case of FOMO, it is time to pick up this book. Scattered with journeys from all over Europe, you won't feel like you're missing a thing! Sydney is spending her first summer in college, travelling through Europe with her childhood best friend Leela. Unfortunately her plans have been thwarted when Leela's cheating ex-boyfriend (and his very, VERY hot friend), turn up on the same travel cycle. It doesn't help that all Sydney can worry about is the fact that she's left her mother who suffers from a mental illness, back home with her little sister. Sydney just wants to find the balance between planning things out, and letting go. This book made me feel like I was right there in Europe with all the characters. Reading through Sydney's adventures will make you feel the need to kick your feet up a...

A Beautiful Island: Langkawi!

Image
Hello! I went to Langkawi for a little bit after Christmas and I can say I've fallen in love. When I am sick of this world, I will be going to Langkawi to live with a ginger cat and golden retriever. That is all I want out of life. But seriously, Langkawi is beautiful and I love it so much. It's away from everything that it's so easy for you to forget whatever is going on in your life - which is slightly the point of a holiday if you ask me. Whether it be, going back to work or even the small things like changing your pair of contact lenses, Langkawi actually makes you forget about all that. I stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort which is near/in (I can't remember which) the Pantai Cenang area. This area is pretty nice to stay at because everything is in walking distance, which is something you'd definitely want in Langkawi because driving is a headache and a half. There's nowhere to park. It's near staples of Langkawi such as Underwater World and a lo...

Malacca - The Small Town that Is

Image
I've been on holiday in Malaysia for a little while and whilst being in Malaysia I've left the capital city of Kuala Lumpur (KL) and gone to Malacca with some family. Malacca is a small town by the sea, south of KL and was an army town back in the 1500's but now it's more of a tourist location. And despite being a small town, the place is still always congested and there's people everywhere. If you're into historical things and sightseeing than this would be perfect for you. However if you're worried that there are no metropolitan shops; there are. There is a shopping mall in the city area. I stayed at the Hatten Hotel which is a lovely 4 star hotel. There is a television in the room and the bed is really comfy and the service is moderately quick. They're also really safe, not letting you access any other floors other than your own. I would NOT recommend driving anywhere in this place. There is no parking and it is always congested. We went out and what...
