Summer Favourites!

I love summer! Summer is a great season for having a ball! This coming from a dark skinned girl who does not need to tan. Despite that, I love summer. Schools off which is always a plus. I live in Australia which means I'm in summer now (during Christmas). Summers during Christmas mean one thing; SALES. Who doesn't love a good summer sale?

Neutrogena Ultimate Sport Sunscreen Lotion:
I'm not usually picky about sunscreen but this stuff is really good! It goes up to a 70 SPF protection which is great if you need that extra protection. Weirdly enough this also smells really nice, it's got a bit of a scent to it, I mean the scent isn't very strong but it's a nice scent so that if you're going to the beach and you don't want to use perfume. In addition it is also four hours water resistant, sweat resistant, oil free and won't clog your pores. This works so well for me because I have such shitty skin sometimes that it is great that it's not affecting my skin some more.

Floppy hat:
These have come into fashion recently. They're the hats that have a wider brim. Everyone's got one but they come in so many different styles and sizes that it's almost impossible that you'll see someone in the street that has a similar one. I bought one from Dotti for $16 which is quite cheap actually. Mine is black with a brown leather ribbon around the brim.

Lip Chalk(matte lip cream):
This already sounds really confusing but it's really not. It's not lip gloss it's lip chalk. The difference is that lip chalk has a thicker consistency and less of a shine. It's more of a day time lip because it looks really casual. The shade is perfect for summertime. The label says it's red but it's more of a pink colour, it's not really bright but it does stand out. I bought mine for $10 at Sportsgirl and it also comes in an orange and a cream colour.

Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde:
I love this song right now! This comes from the new Hunger Games movie; Mockingjay. I love the movie and I love this song. I'm not a huge fan of Lorde but this song is so intense and it tells such a good story but at the same time is has such a good rhythm and beat.

FOUR(deluxe) by One Direction:
I love these beautiful boys. HAHAHAHA I apologize in advance if your not a One Direction fan but I promise I'm not going to go off the handle about it. Their new album is really different from all their other ones. One of my friends commented that they've lost a bit of their boy band feel but not all of it. Which I suppose is good because they manage to keep their feel but sort of grow? I also love how they wrote most of the songs because it's one thing to sing them but writing one is really hard. My personal favourites on the album are 'Girl Almighty', 'Once in a Lifetime' and 'No Control'.

The Smitten Romance Series:
Excuse me whilst my inner bookworm comes out. I don't really get a lot of time to read when I'm in school so a lot of the time my holidays are dedicated to that but now that I'm in my senior years that's a bit hard too so my only option is summer. This summer I stumbled upon this series called 'Smitten'. They're written by Kate Forster and Julie Fison and I've been loving them! They usually have a happy ending, depending on what you think happy is of course. I love a good happy ending. It's just great, usually someone is travelling somewhere or something big is happening, it's brilliant! I prefer the ones that are written by Kate Forster just by personal preference. The ones by Julie Fison aren't bad or written badly, it's more personal preference.

I hope that everyone is making the most of summer whilst it last and if you're not in summer right now...I hope that your summer will come as quick as possible! Tell me what you've been loving right now whether summer or winter!

-Em
