The Mortal Instruments Discussion

Image
MY MIND HAS BEEN FRAZZLED EVER SINCE I FINISHED THIS SERIES AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. Now that I've let my utmost raw self come out, I think I can revert back to my slightly more normal self and continue this discussion. I've never really seen the appeal (until now) of the Mortal Instruments Series, I watched the movie (which I thought was great) and I had heard there were books but I had never actually bothered to do any research them mainly because I am not a big fantasy reader. I'm not a big fantasy reader not because  I don't LOVE fantasy novels but because they're usually really big book series that I will for sure invest all my time in and then after reading, will become OBSESSED with and then scout the internet for fanfiction, pieces of fan art, conventions in which the author has talked at, etc, etc ( see also: Harry Potter). And let's be honest, most times a major character dies and sometimes I'm just not mentally prepared for that. So l...

Book Series I Haven't Finished

Image
Everyone loves a good book series! Who doesn't love enveloping themselves in a wonderful world and imagining themselves in them (unless you're reading The Hunger Games , if so disregard that last statement) I have loads of book series however that I have not finished because I am a failure and you know...life gets busy. But I have quite a few of unread series in my selection so I thought I would share them with you. 1. The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare  If you've read my February Favourites , then you'd know that I have been obsessed with this series (and yes I know, I am very late to the party). But I have barely put it down since I've started reading the first book. I did, I will admit I did put it down after Book 3. City of Glass because it's halfway through the series and the book ended on such a great happy note and I really don't fancy the next book ripping my heart out. But I've started the next book now, City of Fallen Angel...

The Bachelor Finale Recap

Image
The reason this is a blog post is because my family and friends are sick of me going on about The Bachelor to the point where they're just generally sick of me. Hence, it's now on the internet for everyone to read at their own will instead. *Bachelor spoilers ahead, continue at your own risk* The USA Bachelor Finale aired on 14th of March and after rose ceremony after rose ceremony, this season has finally come to an end. I have been watching The Bachelor every single Wednesday with my two friends, Sarah and Theresa, who I have recruited into the craze. We had the prediction that Ben breaks up with one woman and then realises that she is the one and calls her back, (based on regularly deceiving promos of course) and I predicted that based on this prediction and the time of day that both girls are in the helicopter, that he picks Jojo. Two things first and foremost; 1. Ben Higgins, from what I can tell is such a lovely guy. I do not understand this hype the medi...

February Favourites

Image
I'm so sad because February is over and that means that summer is officially over and this also brings an end to lovely beach days and swimming every single day. But I've got some favourites that I hope you enjoy because I've been enjoying them. Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub  After coming back from Malaysia, the weather and the greasy food I'd been eating tore up my skin and my usual face wash wasn't fixing my terrible skin. However this Sukin natural facial wash fixed everything and my skin was finally back to normal. It's also 100% natural and vegan and is not tested on animals. It goes on your face really smooth smooth and doesn't leave that stinging sensation that some facial washes do.  Circular Sunglasses I told myself at the beginning of Summer that I wouldn't buy anymore pairs of sunglasses (because I am addicted to them) and here I've gone, breaking promises. I just couldn't help myself. I was out with my friends who are t...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Crayons

Image
I feel as if I am so late on the bandwagon to this new lip product I've discovered. I mean I only find out after I've purchased it that everyone's already passed the hype. I picked up the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm . I've never tried a lip crayon before and this has lived in my handbag since I've bought it. These lip crayons come in a wide range of colours. The Revlon Colorburst don't only come in a matte balm but also come in lacquer balm and a balm stain. I've found that the lacquer balm has more of a glossy effect once on your lips and the matte is essentially what it is - matte. The balm stain is not as effective and doesn't have that great of an effect because it's more of a lip balm with a twinge of colour rather than a lip crayon. Out of all three, I would say that the matte balm probably has the most effect and shows up more vibrant on lips. I got two colours. One is 'sultry' which is a darker pink with not as much ...

February: Read, Reading and To Be Read

Image
Hi I love being so free that I can listen to the Star Wars soundtracks and read for hours by the pool. I have been reading some GREAT books. They've made me cry, made me laugh out loud and made me scream and that's how you know you've read a good book. Read This month I read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I feel as if this book is a classic although it's  not old enough to be a classic. I can just see in one hundred years, this book will be regarded as a classic. It's told from media res with a first person point of view from Amir. We first get to hear about how someone's called him to come back to Kabul and he realises that it's time for him to go back to the place he once called home. Then we jump to the past and of his childhood in the 1970's. Amir grows up in a rich household with his father Baba and their servants Ali and his son Hassan. The book focuses specially on Amir's friendship with Hassan and the class differences between t...

A Beautiful Island: Langkawi!

Image
Hello! I went to Langkawi for a little bit after Christmas and I can say I've fallen in love. When I am sick of this world, I will be going to Langkawi to live with a ginger cat and golden retriever. That is all I want out of life. But seriously, Langkawi is beautiful and I love it so much. It's away from everything that it's so easy for you to forget whatever is going on in your life - which is slightly the point of a holiday if you ask me. Whether it be, going back to work or even the small things like changing your pair of contact lenses, Langkawi actually makes you forget about all that. I stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort which is near/in (I can't remember which) the Pantai Cenang area. This area is pretty nice to stay at because everything is in walking distance, which is something you'd definitely want in Langkawi because driving is a headache and a half. There's nowhere to park. It's near staples of Langkawi such as Underwater World and a lo...
